Austin to test broadband over power lines

(The following is a "Letter to the Editor" for the Austin American-Statesman newspaper, written by Phyllis Light, in response to an article about the city of Austin wanting to bring broadband frequencies into homes through existing power lines)
No Informed Consent
Mixing broadband frequencies with already existing electrical frequencies is a horrendous idea, due to the negative impact on human health. There is scientific research that many illnesses have been linked to exposure to electromagnetic fields: weakened endocrine and immune systems, leading to allergies, asthma, cancer, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, headaches, fibromyalgia, sleep disorders, ADHD, and a speeded-up aging process (Robert O. Becker, M.D.,1990).
I am aware of the draining effect of sitting in front of the computer, on the internet, for an extended period of time. If they decide to send broadband frequencies over electric lines, the internet frequencies will ultimately be broadcast throughout our homes, 24/7, whether we like it or not. People will become increasingly sick, depressed, and unhappy, with no clue as to the cause. We need to have a choice.
